Jackie Chan Confirms ‘Rush Hour 4’ Is In The Works

Rush Hour 3 came out in 2007. Although it’s been over 15 years since then, Jackie Chan is confirming that Rush Hour 4 is in the works. If you aren’t familiar with the first movie, Rush Hour is about a Chinese diplomat whose daughter gets kidnapped. A Hong Kong detective inspector named Lee (Jackie Chan) is called to help the FBI find the little girl, but the FBI wants nothing to do with him. They send Lee to work with the LAPD who assign him to detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) to be watched. After finding out the FBI and police left them both behind, they decide to work together to solve the case despite getting on each others last nerves.

Chan spoke on his plans to quit acting because of a lack of interesting roles until the first Rush Hour film came along. Chan says, “my manager said look, there’s a script, and it’s called Rush Hour. I said no, Hong Kong police? I’m not going to do it. He said Jackie, why don’t you try last time. I said okay, this is the last time.”

After the film’s release, Chan says Ratner and Tucker calls him and says, “Dude, we’re a huge success. We’re 70 million in the first weekend,” Chan says, “for me, I don’t have a count of what 70 million is. I don’t know the box office. I just know its certainly a success. And then they made part 2 and part 3.”

While the fourth Rush Hour Film is in the works, there are still talks about who is the producer. There were claims from Brett Ratner that he would be making the film, but some producers are stating other wise.

“Brett has been walking around town telling people he’s going to direct a Rush Hour movie because it’s his only way back in,” a studio executive told THR. “He’s trying to make believe he’s employable.”

There is no confirmation about the producer of the film yet, but fans are still excited to hear the news. You can take a look at some of the tweets below:
