TV host Jeannie Mai is reportedly “devastated” that Jeezy filed for divorce and “she wants to work things out.”
According to Page Six, an insider says Jeannie “wants her family unit back.”
“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce,” a source told the outlet.
The source added that Jeannie still “deeply loves” Jeezy and “wants to work things out” as divorce was not “a part of the plan.”
“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
The source concluded saying, “Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.”
As Parle Magazine previously reported, Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie earlier in September at a Fulton County Court–about two and a half years after they tied the knot in Atlanta, Georgia. Per the filing, the two have already been separated.
Though it was unknown as to why the now-estranged couple went their separate ways at the time, a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the two had differing opinions when it came to “certain family values and expectations.”
“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the source told the outlet.
Jeezy is also reportedly seeking joint custody of his and Jeannie Mai’s daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins. The two have a prenuptial agreement in place.
Court documents obtained by Page Six stated Jeezy claimed his marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
