Megan Thee Stallion has teamed up with mental health awareness organization Seize the Awkward to encourage those struggling with their own mental health to open up about it.

In a new Instagram video, she shared a PSA in which she talked about her own experience.

“I’ve always been told I gotta be strong,” Megan said in the PSA. “Thick skinned. Stiff upper lip. Tough as nails. But to be everything for everybody–it wears on you. ‘Black don’t crack,’ they say. But it can. I can. We all can. Y’all, it’s okay to not be okay. Reach out to a friend if you see them going through it. No matter who you are, being vulnerable is what makes us whole.”

She reiterated her sentiments in the caption of her Instagram post saying, “Y’all, it’s okay to not be okay. Reach out to a friend if you see them going through it. Learn how to start the conversation about mental health at SeizeTheAwkward.org. #SeizeTheAwkward.”

Naturally, fans and followers of Megan Thee Stallion were thrilled, which they expressed in her IG comments. Her PSA opened the floor to those who also advocate for mental health awareness.

“This is why I love her…but let’s keep that black don’t crack cracking because we don’t lol we all ain’t strong but we don’t crack,” @blk.witchgoddess said.

“Such an important message [heart emoji] thank you so much for sharing and being such a bold advocate for mental health,” wrote @aminaplease.

“Vulnerability is our strongest asset in life. such a powerful icon, i 100% stan,” @definitely_is_ainsley commented.

Megan additionally filmed five other videos with Seize the Awkward which can be seen on the official website. In one of clips she explains why she joined the campaign.

“I got involved with this campaign because I genuinely know what it feels like where I don’t want to open up and I don’t want to talk about it and I don’t tell people, ‘No, I don’t like this.’ ‘This has affected me this way.’ ‘I’m sad.’ ‘I don’t want to do that,'” she said. “I know what it feels like to be in your head and feel like, ‘I can’t talk to anybody about this.’ ‘I don’t want anybody to know. ‘I’m embarrassed about how I feel.'”

Megan Thee Stallion is back in her working bag and shows no signs of stopping as she was also seen surprising Beyoncé during Bey’s Renaissance World Tour in their hometown, Houston, on Saturday–among other things.
