Because he is now married, according to a recent court document, Tory Lanez is no longer a single man.
Hip Hop DX reports that Meghann Cuniff, Law & Crime reporter who has been covering the Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial from the beginning, revealed the information on Friday (September 1).
Daystar Peterson (stage name Tory Lanez) married his fiancée Raina Chassagne somewhere between his sentencing and the present bail application, according to Cuniff, who got copies of the motion to release Lanez from prison.
Chassagne became engaged to the “Stupid Again” rapper during the sentencing hearing. She also penned a letter of support for the Ontario native during the trial.
The six-year-old child of Tory Lanez who was in the court room during the trial is also the child of Chassagne.
Tory Lanez Just Got Married In Prison
On Monday (August 28), a “bail on appeal” request was submitted in Los Angeles on behalf of the “Lady of Namek” hitmaker. A hearing date of September 5 has been scheduled.
“Ask and ye shall receive: Tory Lanez’s lawyers appear to have filed a motion to bail him out of jail as he appeals his judgment and sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion,” the Law & Crime reporter posted on X (formerly Twitter) at the time.
“Regarding actual motion, DA’s office says they weren’t aware anything was filed and haven’t received anything yet, but ‘132 has been dark’ which refers to Judge Herriford’s dept # and means he’s been out. But public docket entry is yesterday, hearing is scheduled for Tuesday,” she furthered.

Judge David Herriford, who ruled over the trial in December 2022 and ultimately sentenced the “SKAT” rapper to ten years in prison, will preside over the hearing.
Last week, Cuniff shared on X, “2+ weeks since Tory Lanez’s lawyer Jose Baez said he’d file a motion to bail Lanez out of jail as he appeals his convictions and 10-year prison sentence.
“No motion has been filed, and I’m not sure how much of a priority it is for Baez: He’s posting Instagram stories from Italy.”
