With the summer right around the corner and the anticipated arrival of several major holiday weekends I urge you to put Pensacola Beach somewhere in your vacation plans. Pensacola Beach, Florida is located along the Gulf of Mexico. This vacation destination is perfect for families as well as couples and a fun getaway with friends.

Pensacola Beach has always been a popular vacation spot for families and after taking a trip there recently I can definitely see why. The picturesque beach will send you into a tranquil filled state. The emerald colored waters accents the beach and if you look closely you might see dolphins swimming through the crystal-clear waves.

Fishing is a popular pastime for both locals and visitors. In Pensacola you will find numerous places where you can rent a fishing boat or you can buy a ticket on a private or group charter boat. If you want to keep it simple there’s the Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge where you can either walk or if you’re driving, park your car and set up a fishing post.

There are plenty of great local restaurants to check out in the city of Pensacola, but if you want something closer to the beach I recommend CRABS Seafood restaurant located directly on the beach. The atmosphere is lively and fun. If you’re a seafood lover, you will find yourself in seafood heaven. The menu is filled with tasty seafood options such as, fried shrimp, crab cakes, fish, and not to mention the largest selection of crabs on the beach. You can either sit inside or outside on the deck and enjoy the refreshing breeze. There is also a beach playground for the kids to enjoy while you sit and eat.

Another top-rated restaurant I recommend is Flounder’s Chowder House, located on the Beach. They also have a great seafood menu and an outdoor beach playground for the kids.

If you’re an outdoors person looking for some adventure, there’s parasailing, snorkeling, wind surfing and jet skiing. The beach areas have many places where families can have picnics or barbeques. And it you want a change of scenery you can take a drive down the emerald coast to the nearby Fort Walton, Destin, Navarre and Panama City Beaches.

Pensacola Beach

Everything about Pensacola Beach invites peace and relaxation. This is a place where parents can still unwind with the kids around. Perhaps it’s the gentle breeze from the ocean that reminds you that you’re on vacation and need to chill out. I promise you, once you visit Pensacola you will want to come back again and again.
