Keyshia Cole has a history of putting out good music in her career that dates back to 2005. With her fifth album, Woman To Woman, she continues the trend, staying in her own lane producing love tales from the ladies perspective, for the ladies, as the album title suggests.

This is Cole’s first album since 2010’s Calling All Hearts, and her fifth studio album overall. It features several a-list producers including Vidal, Jerry Wonda, Darkchild and Toxic. It also has surprise appearances from Robin Thicke and Meek Mill, plus Ashanti appears on the title track. Cole needs minimal help to do her thing on this album though.

Album highlights include “Zero,” “Wonderland” and “Signature.” The deluxe edition provides an extra treat with “Why Lie.” Keyshia continues to release hits but that special touch that keeps her out the conversation of best in the game is still missing. The difference between this and her earlier work is that she would release songs that captured fans hearts and kept them singing well after the album concluded. That feeling is not on this album and really hasn’t surrounded Keyshia for a few years now.

Still doesn’t take away from this solid effort. She’s got a good album with Woman To Woman. It just doesn’t put her over the top.
