Now that Summer’s here, a “suns out, thighs out” mentality is developing. Shorts for Summer are definitely a classic must-have and most versatile and comfortable fashion staple in a woman’s wardrobe. There are numerous styles of shorts, from tailored to denim, neon to printed, even leather to lace, for summer season days and nights. Style your shorts right to your figure and flaunt your legs with comfort and confidence. And flaunt them like there’s no tomorrow! Because every lady’s got a leg worthy of the arrival of warm weather. Here are five Summer short trends to rock this Summer with sassy style!

Bermuda Shorts
The Summer of 2015, Bermuda shorts trend follows 2014’s business-oriented fashion lead full of prints and crisp fabrics seen in collections by the likes of Mulberry. Follow in the footsteps of Alexa Chung, a Mulberry brand darling, and revel in this polished tomboy aesthetic. Both the mid-thigh and below-the-knee styles are desirable. Feel free to go with either length, but petite ladies, proceed with caution; our pretty petites should go with shorter, tailored styles, as long baggy cuts overwhelm small frames. Pairing Bermuda shorts with a button-up and knee length matching jacket is a go-to, chic Summer look.

Denim Shorts
Nothing is as casual and cool as a pair of denim shorts—it’s no wonder the trend finds its way to the must-have list every year. Whether you rock them in a boho-chic way or a more classic, preppy take on the trend, fashionistas can’t seem to get enough of the leggy style staple. High-waisted denim shorts are huge right now. Rock them with a trendy crop top or tuck in a tank and belt them if you want to try the retro silhouette in a more demure way. Distressed, frayed denim is the way to go for edgy styles and try them in a lighter wash. Light denim made a major comeback on the Spring 2015 runways—perfect shade for a cool Summer day. And of course, short shorts always seem to be in, but not for everybody. Stay on the safe side with a denim short that’s more comfortable and keeps you covered with a relaxed leg. Pair these with flats or wedges and a peasant top for a flirty style.

High-Waisted Shorts
High-waisted shorts are a tremendously popular trend with fashion conscious gals in this warming weather. So much of fashion now is about investing in the seasonless. High-waisted shorts are transient but they are so versatile! Ripped, patterned, neon, textured, whatever the type, these oddly shaped outer garments are in every women’s apparel store from designer to discount. From day to weekend to work, high-waisted shorts are great for all occasions. Pair a conservative length short with a tailored blazer or jacket for work. An evening short should be a statement piece, so pair a bold patterned short with a simple tank and classic bag. Going for a sporty vibe? Pair these shorts with a lot of leg, a perforated knit top and a cute bomber jacket.

Leather Shorts
These have been a top trend for several seasons because they are surprisingly versatile for creative, fun Summer looks. Grab a basic, yet classic black style and keep your leather look light and springy with chic tops that have bright whites and pops of color. Printed tees, chunky knits, flowy blouses, even casual button-up shirts paired with leather shorts create an urban chic vibe. Add jewelry and heels to spice up an outstanding look!

Lace Shorts
Not only do these shorts evoke a strong bohemian vibe, lace shorts are perfect for a feminine, flirty, yet sexy look. Pair these with a daintily detailed floral top for the boho-chic look or try classic shirts and a blazer to add an elegant twist. And don’t be afraid to dare an unexpected look with a chunky knit for a bon-fire on the beach kind of night.
All of these looks can be found online or at your local clothing store. I say this because we all have our own style, budget, and most important, body. Tailor these looks to your own sense of style and you can’t go wrong. Wear them with confidence and class. And love your legs this summer!
