“The bottom line is I’m loyal to the guys at Apple. I love Apple, and I really love musicians. That’s why those articles annoyed me, because it had nothing to do with reality. It made it out to be all about money…We need Donald Trump here to call it ‘fake news,” Iovine said, according to Variety.

Iovine, 65,continues saying, “The next chapter, whatever intensity I’m working, will be to help streaming come to scale.” Iovine help explode Apple Music’s growth to more than 30 million paid subscribers in almost three years, as contrast to Spotify, which has been around for longer and claims more than 70 million subscribers.

Iovine was the mastermind who founded the record label, Interscope, that gave you albums from Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar. In 2008, Iovine and Dr. Dre started the consumer electronics company Beats by Dre, selling headphones. The duo expanded the brand by buying struggling music streaming service MOG in 2012 and turning that into a the subscription-based Beats Music before selling to Apple.
