When a black man is shot in the back of a sheriff patrol car, from what they say is a self-inflicted wound, it reveals criminality within an entire police department.

Investigation Discovery and Stephen David Entertainment brings you Sugar Town, the Victor White III story.  Sugar Town is the true story of a 22-year-old who was shot March 2, 2014 while in custody of a New Iberia, Louisiana Sheriff. In this two-hour documentary the details are told about this tragic event.  Sugar Town include interviews from family and friends of White, as well as, trying to reveal a larger story of power, corruption and racial injustice in a small town.

This story set in New Iberia, Louisiana, a town divided by railroad tracks: north of the tracks is predominantly white while south of the tracks is a majority Black population.  The racial tensions in the town were huge before this incident, but as you can imagine, things heated up considerably after this event.
