It has always been a community staple that features a weekend full of fun, fellowship and empowerment for black women nationwide. This year marks the 25th anniversary for the Black Women’s Expo and the first stop is the Windy City—Chicago, IL. And what’s more exciting is that BET Her, the network’s cable channel that centers around African American women, will be the chief sponsor for the event.

Taking place at the McCormick Place Convention Center, the Black Women’s Expo will treat guests to the ultimate experience: pampering, fine dining, getting glammed up and inspired with amazing seminars that focus on health, wellness and lifestyle. There is even opportunity to get up close and personal with favorite local and nationwide celebrities, as well as community movers and shakers who come out in support of sharing knowledge and expertise in diverse topics such as business, beauty, spirituality, entertainment and finance.

“As The Black Women’s Expo enters its 25th year of celebrating Black women excellence, I am thrilled to have BET Her join us this year as the title sponsor in the place where it all started – Chicago,” says Merry Green, creator and founder of The Black Women’s Expo. “The expo has always been about Black women empowerment and engagement, and to find a partner in BET Her, whose mission is the same, is truly a perfect match.”

Thousands attend the Black Women’s Expo annually in celebration of the unique versatility of Black women and their accomplishments. Over 500 small businesses are provided exposure every year. Festivities take place from Friday, April 12th through Sunday, April 14th.

On the main stage, guests will enjoy the soulful sounds of recording artists Leela James, Eric Benet, Glenn Jones and J. Brown. And as always, local artists will be showcased and given a platform. Poetry Soulchild will be blessing the mic as well as other Chicago talent.

In addition to Chicago, the tour also will make stops in:
• Atlanta: September 14 – 15 at Georgia International Convention Center
• Dallas: June 15 – 16 at Fair Park
