NBA Veteran Lamar Odom Admits to Sleeping with Over 2,000 Women

Lamar Odom is ready to shed some light on the darkest moments of his life.  In the new Lamar Odom book, Darkness to Light, the NBA champion opened up about his horrifying addiction to drugs and sex, which ultimately landed him on his deathbed.

“I have been obsessed with sex for as long as I can remember,” the People-exclusive excerpt read. “I’m a sex addict.”

Odom then went into revealing that, to date, he has slept with over 2,000 women total, including strippers he’d often pay after having intercourse. He even admitted to committing adultery throughout his marriage to reality star Khloé Kardashian, whom he wedded in 2009. The couple split in 2013, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2016.

“I was shocked and embarrassed,” he told the outlet, recounting Kardashian’s discovery of the infidelity. “I wanted to take it back, but you can’t. I wanted to hide it, but that sick sin was hard for me to hide. I had a problem.”

Odom said he first realized the depth of his addiction through the excessive amount of Rated R videos he was watching. “I ran out of porn to watch! That’s how you know when you’re going a little overboard.”

But it was when cocaine came into the equation that things took a turn for the absolute worse. Odom explained that sex was a trigger for his substance abuse, to “double up on [that] good feeling.”

In 2015, the 39-year-old was found unconscious at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, a brothel in Las Vegas, where he’d fallen into a coma, which was due to an overdose. It was reported that Odom also suffered a number of strokes and heart attacks and even underwent kidney failure.

However, though he has described the life-threatening incident as a “wake-up call” and is now drug-free, he’s still a work in progress.  Lamar Odom can be an inspiration for others that are looking for help treating opioid addiction.

“I’m still an addict. I still struggle,” Odom expressed. “But I will not go into darkness… ever again.”
