Fresh of the release of his I Got The Hook Up 2, released early Summer, Master P is working on executive producing his next big film, a romantic comedy titled, Never and Again. The Grammy-winning Hip-Hop legend and mogul also has a role in the film, though he is taking a back seat in this film to a star-studded cast of veterans.
Jackie Long (ATL, Games People Play), Denise Boutte (Why Did I Get Married, Meet the Browns) and Christian Keyes (Saints & Sinners, No More Mr. Nice Guy) are set to star in Never and Again, written and directed by LazReal Lison. The film focuses on a budding romance between Kevin (Long) and Jasmine (Boutte) first sparked during their teenage years. The duo equally supported and shared passion for each other’s dreams – her love for music and his love for football, ultimately falling madly in love in the process.
As with many love stories including during the puppy love phase with couples first starting out, outside circumstances can cause things to unravel. In Never and Again, the same reigns true as the love between Kevin and Jasmine takes a dramatic shift as tragedy soon unfolds and a momentary lapse in judgement pulls them apart. As has often been said over the course of history, time heals all wounds, because many years later, their paths cross again and the two are forced to trust one another. Will the love they once shared be enough to save them now?
Rounding out the cast are singer Cymphonique Miller, Vanessa Simmons, Day 26’s Willie Taylor, Marilyn Camacho, Bebe Drake, Ayla Kell and Lance Paul.
Co-producing alongside Lison, under the Summer House Pictures are Tatiana Chekhova, Jayson Bernard and Roberto Rosario, Jr. of J&R Productions as well as Tracy Bell of Asah Entertainment.
The Executive Producers for Never and Again include the aforementioned Master P, his son and rapper Romeo Miller, Kristi Kilday and Antonio Trotter. The movie is currently being filmed in Los Angeles with an anticipated 2020 release.
