When a Woman’s Fed Up: Azriel Clary vs Joycelyn Savage – A Look Inside R. Kelly’s Girlfriends’ Brawl

Just when you thought nothing else could be said about the ongoing R. Kelly investigation and the charges surrounding it, more mayhem has started to unravel. Recently, both of Kelly’s girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, made headlines, after getting into a physical fight… on Instagram live.

On January 8th, the singer’s 52nd birthday was a day I’m sure he’ll never forget. Facing charges ranging from enticing a minor to child pornography, Kelly is being held in a federal prison without bond. In all, he faces 40 counts of state and federal sexual misconduct charges in Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. But, this isn’t about that.

This is about the fact that Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, R. Kelly’s two live-in girlfriends, had a whole showdown in front of the world, and most was caught on camera.

During the Azriel Clary vs Joycelyn Savage brawl, Clary was heard shouting at Savage, “You’re going to jail for having sex with a minor. That minor was me!” PAUSE. Was that for real? According to everything that’s been floating throughout various media outlets, the claims Clary is making are supposed to be very real. What does this mean for R. Kelly now that one of his closest has cracked?

Let me be the first to say, I’m glad that sis is finally seeing the light. We’ve all been stupid for a man at one point in our lives–well, at least, I know I have. When you love someone, sometimes you don’t really see just how messed up that individual is. Now, that’s not saying I condone what he did because he is one sick a** individual. What I am saying is, it’s easy to be blinded by what you think is love and be so in love with someone that you don’t see the bad in them.

Love will have you doing some real crazy sh*t, man. Love will even make you say some cruel, hateful, and spiteful things to people who truly love you and only mean you well. As we all saw in the infamous Gayle King interview the girls did alongside Kelly, both girls proclaimed that everything people were saying about their beloved was indeed false. They preached it so tough that they even went so far to berate and belittle their parents and other family members in order to make ‘their man’ look good. Some good that did, huh?

The interview R. Kelly did with Gayle King was nothing more than a mere acting job for the proclaimed Pied Piper of R&B. Once again, he put his acting skills to use. Albeit, the acting sucked (in my opinion) but hey, he did what he thought he had to do and so did they. Now that both young women are out of his clutches, I wonder what all this may mean for them.

According to a post made by Azriel Clary on her Instagram page, “Let the healing process begin,” which means that she’s left R. Kelly’s Trump Towers condo and has left the singer right where he belongs. I truly hope that this young woman begins to heal and cleanse herself from whatever horrors incurred at the hands of R. Kelly. The post was accompanied by family photos of Clary with her parents, siblings, and nephew with a huge smile on her face. She’s also been very active on Twitter, letting her supporters know that she’s finally reached her breaking point and looking forward to the future.

As for Joycelyn Savage, I hope and pray that she finds the same type of strength Azriel Clary did and leaves R. Kelly to rot in prison where he belongs. It’s not all the time that we get redemption for child molesters and abusers, but when we do, we should indeed celebrate. Maybe this fight needed to happen in order for Clary to see that home is where she needed to be.

And while there are still a lot of R. Kelly supporters out there, ask yourself if you’d think the same way if it was your child, your sister, your cousin, your friend who was manipulated and abused by him. Would you think it was all about money then? Would you think they were all lying because the money stopped flowing? Or, would you truly want to help them in the best way you knew how?

All I know is that R. Kelly really did say it right when he wrote, “When a woman’s fed up, there ain’t nothing you can do about it.”

Following the controversial stream, Joycelyn Savage actually turned herself in to the police and was charged with domestic battery for her attack on Clary. She was later released and is scheduled for court on January 23rd.
