An official Martin reunion is finally happening. Martin: The Reunion is scheduled to premiere on  Thursday June 16th, almost 30 years after the series originally premiered.

Here’s your first look at Martin: The Reunion

Slated for a BET+ release, the ninety-minute special will revisit the classic sitcom’s original cast (Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne II) and their most memorable moments throughout their five-season run.

The production is reportedly hosted by comedian Affion Crockett and takes place on the iconic Martin living room set.

“The cast will look back on the show’s most hilarious moments, revisit the iconic characters Martin made famous and pay an emotional tribute to the late, great Tommy Ford,” the media service announced. “Complete with musical performances and drop-ins by celebrity super fans, ‘Martin: The Reunion’ brings back the wazzup wazzup wazzup passion fans have been waiting for.”

Plotted in Detroit, Michigan, Martin was a popular series that made its mark on Black television from 1992 to 1997. It chronicled Martin Payne (Lawrence), a disc jockey, and his girlfriend, Gina Waters (Campbell), as they navigated through the everyday ups and downs of a young couple.

Martin: The Reunion will hit the streaming network on June 16th in celebration of the show’s thirtieth anniversary.

It’s unfortunate that this wasn’t able to happen before Thomas Mikal Ford’s abrupt passing back in 2016. However, we are happy to see that the actor’s legacy will still be kept alive.

Rest in peace to our forever favorite, Tommy.
