50 Cent Faces Mediation With Ex-Drug Lord Suing Him For $1B Over “Power”
50 Cent faces mediation with ex-drug lord Corey “Ghost” Holland suing him for $1 billion. The lawsuit alleges that 50 Cent and fellow executive producer Courtney Kemp stole the idea for Power from Holland’s actual life. Holland claims that his relationship with Kemp’s father goes back to the 1990s and that they remained in touch until 2007, when Holland allegedly mailed a CD he made for at-risk youth to Kemp’s father.
According to AllHipHop, 50 Cent and Holland are scheduled to appear at a mediation conference in May. Holland has also accused 50 cent and his associates of bullying and making threats on his life. He claims that 50 Cent has thrown “a lot of subliminal shots” at him since the lawsuit was filed.
Holland has said that he wants to keep the fight in court but is not afraid of any kind of confrontation. However, he has also filed a motion to legally protect his interests and his family if violence becomes necessary to protect them. Holland claims that 50 Cent visited his house on two occasions in an effort to intimidate him and that his entourage was armed.
Despite the lawsuit, “Power” has seen much success, with numerous spin-offs, including “Raising Kanan.” The entire “Power” universe has been heralded by many, but the lawsuit filed by Holland has cast a shadow over the series. Stay tuned for more updates as the mediation conference approaches.
