Rubi Rose’s Ramadan Tweet & Why It Faced So Much Backlash
The Rubi Rose Ramadan tweet wasn’t well-received on social media… at all.
In a recent post on the networking platform, the Kentucky rhymer wrote, “Ready for Ramadan.”
Rose’s remark came ahead of the start of the Islamic celebration, which is a month-long tradition reserved for Muslims to fast and pray.

However, although (seemingly) repping the culture and the community, many didn’t take too kindly to Rose’s mention of it and alluded that the “I Like” lyricist flaunted hypocrisy.
If you didn’t know, at the time that the 25-year-old made the comment, her Twitter profile picture was a provocative image of her looking back at the camera while bent over, with a hand covering her nether regions.
Some brought up Rose’s previous tweets which suggested that she practiced Christianity, while others called for her to delete her inappropriate photos from her online accounts. Rose, who is rumored to be dating French Montana, then changed her profile picture to a red circle before sharing a flick of herself wearing a hijab with her hair covered.
While she didn’t address the backlash directly, Rose retweeted a statement from City Girls’ JT. “I love learning the hard way ima touch the stove every time!” the tweet read.
Despite the criticism, a few users commended Rose for her interest in learning about other religions and encouraged her.
However, others hinted that Rose was not genuine in her interest in Ramadan and that her statement was a gimmick and only a way to “play both sides of religion.”
