It looks like Rick Ross and 50 Cent won’t be reconciling anytime soon.  The two rappers have battled it out for over 10 years competing for record sales and taking jabs at each other every chance they could get.  Still, 50 Cent vs Rick Ross hasn’t really been about sales, but more about a genuine dislike for each other.  Here’s a look at the drama, but also a look at a 50 Cent vs Rick Ross sales side by side to really see who has been winning this beef.

During a recent interview with Complex, Ross said he doubts he’ll be doing so with the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ musician.

Host Speedy Morman inquired about the two rappers and businessman squashing their beef once and for all. Philly rapper Meek Mill was also in on the conversation, as he joined the men for a lengthy conversation.

“You spoke about Meek and Drake, obviously y’all are in a great place, y’all are cool and you said that y’all share music. Can we see something like that happen for you and 50? Or is that too far gone?” Morman asked.

“I doubt it,” Ross responded.

“I don’t think 50 Cent and Ross is ever–they’re getting so Rich, well Ross getting so rich” Meek chimed in.

“Well, he[‘s] not,” Ross interjected about 50.

“I don’t know his business,” Meek continued. “Ross getting so rich I don’t even think that’s a smart investment to beef with anyone, respectively, I ain’t got no smoke.”

“And I ain’t got no jobs for him or nothing,” Ross added about 50 again.

“I don’t think he needs a job.” Morman said.

“I’m sure he do,” the Miami rapper insisted.

Ross and 50’s beef is one of the longest running beefs in modern-day hip-hop, as they’ve reportedly been at odds since the late 2000s. It all started in 2008 with 50 allegedly ice grilled him at a BET event, which led him to release “Mafia Music” dissing the Queens rapper in 2009.

“I love to pay ya bills, can’t wait to pay ya rent, Curtis Jackson baby mama, I ain’t looking for a cent, Burn the house down,” Ross said in reference to a fire that took place at a home owned by 50 Cent, in which Shaniqua Tompkins’–50’s child’s mother–had to evacuate.

In response, 50 dropped “Officer Ricky (Go Head, Try Me)” calling Ross a “fat f*ck.” To make matters worse, he even released an alleged sex tape featuring Ross’ baby mother Lastonia Leviston. Years later in 2018, Rozay was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive and 50 trolled his condition on Instagram.

In 2020, Ross downplayed 50’s hit-making acumen at the time during an interview with I Am Athlete, starring Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor. When asked about possibly doing a Verzuz against the G-Unit founder, he replied, “Would it be really entertaining music-wise, you know what I’m saying? I’m a real dude, 50 Cent had some huge records when he had the biggest producers and artists around him putting them together. That’s why, right now, he can’t make nothing to save his life. Rozay probably couldn’t save him!”

The following year, 50’s fanbase clowned Ross’ album sales for Richer Than I Ever Been. However, Ross let the criticisms roll off his shoulder.

In between beefing with each other, both rappers have publicly feuded with several other artists and businessmen in Hip-Hop.  Rick Ross vs DJ Envy has been a big one for Rozay, while meanwhile 50 vs Ja Rule has gone on ever since before 50 was a household name.

According to bestsellingalbums.org, 50 cent has sold over 22,982,928 albums, including 16,778,000 in the United States and 3,160,000 in the United Kingdom.

Rick Ross has sold over 2,500,000 albums, including 2,500,000 in the United States. Both of their best-selling albums are their debut albums.

Either way, both artists are legendary in what they’ve contributed to the hip-hop scene. Hopefully, they can put their differences behind them some time.
