Twitter Owner Elon Musk is dropping the iconic Twitter bird for a new logo. This new log is an X. This comes as Elon Musk plans to turn Twitter into an everything app.

Musk Tweeted via his Twitter account that “soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

Following that the X owner tweeted “Our Headquarters for tonight” with a picture of the new logo of the X. The picture taken during sunset shows a tall parallelogram with an intersecting line behind it projected on the former Twitter building.

X is described as an everything app. Everything is a social network, an instant message app, and a payment service in one. Musk’s plans are based on Apps used in Asia like China’s WeChat, Japan’s Line, and South Korea’s KakaoTalk. The Asian Apps are described as super apps that are one-stop-shops which is equal to combining Facebook, WhatsApp, Uber, and  PayPal.

The Twitter bird has been the logo of Twitter since 2006 when the company started. Twitter would soon grow into a staple of the internet giving us iconic internet moments; Gucci Mane account hack, Lil B curse on NBA stars, Donald Trump’s reckless tweets, Meek Mill’s famous Twitter fingers, Kanye West’s bi-polar outburst, and many more.

Musk purchased the social network back in October 2022 for $44 billion dollars. Elon Musk is also the business owner of SpaceX and Tesla which produce the Tesla Model X.

X.com was once an online bank back in the early 2000s owned by Elon Musk. X merged with another company called Confinity to form the company PayPal. Elon Musk bought the X.com domain back in 2017 according to Quartz.

X.com is redirecting people to Twitter.

As of now the Twitter domain works and the App but Twitter is making a graceful goodbye with the replacement of the Twitter bird logo. Will x-ing it out be the new tweet? Welcome to the rebrand of Twitter.
