Legendary Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is making it his duty to show fans that it’s “cool to have a family” with his new Breath Of Fresh Air album.
During a recent interview with Streetz Atlanta, he shared this sentiment with hosts.
“This time when I dropped this album, I kind of like wanted to wait until 10/17 my album, ’cause I ain’t dropped an album in like, two, three years..I just been focusing on my label. But, I was like, I want to put out an album to be a time capsule of where I’m at in my life right now, so I can look back at it 10 years from now,” he said. “I was like, basically, I’ma roll this album out, and this gon’ be the discography of Gucci in 2023, with my little girl, and my boy. So now when I look back 10 years from now, I say okay, this where I was at.”
He continued, saying that one of the messages he wanted to convey was to “enjoy your family”–something that he’s been doing for quite some time now. “These the songs I made, this what was on my mind, and that’s where Breath of Fresh Air, like take your time. Enjoy your family. And just express that instead of like, talking about — not even the same stuff I talk about — but the same stuff I hear people talk about…Show people you can talk about other things, you know what I’m saying? It’s cool to have a family. It’s cool to have dinner at home.”
Breath Of Fresh Air, which dropped on October 17 has 24 tracks and features from a number of heavy hitters including Lil Baby, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Da Baby, and others. The album shows Gucci Mane’s versatility and ability to talk about topics ranging from family matters to money making.
In other Gucci news, 10/17 officially marks Gucci Mane day, as the rapper was honored with his own holiday in the city of Atlanta.
