Lil Nas X is inviting you into his world with ‘Long Live Montero’. In the documentary titled “Lil Nas X:Long Live Montero,” HBO reveals Lil Nas X’s journey and behind-the-scenes of his tour.

On January 4, 2024, the singer took to Instagram to announce the news of his documentary. On the post, he captioned, “Long Live Montero Tour Doc HBO MAX January 27. BIG 2024.”

“Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” first debuted at TIFF. His doc is Lil Nas X first tour and is being directed by Zac Manuel, who is also a co-director for the documentary. The CEO of TIFF, Cameron Bailey, praised Lil Nas’s resilience in the music industry, praising him for his talent and being strong-willed. She expressed in a release, “In this groundbreaking documentary, we witness Lil Nas X challenging boundaries and reshaping the artistic landscape. ”

Speaking on the new documentary, she said, “The film’s captivating journey underscores the profound impact of Lil Nas X, who fearlessly brings audiences together through the universal language of music.”

Additionally, Zac Manuel also acknowledged Lil Nas X ability to turn his challenges into inspiration for his music. He said,

“He is a really intelligent and thoughtful person, and he’s able to reflect on his place as an artist in the international pop music world. But he’s also able to put himself in perspective as a part of a continuum of other Black queer artists and performers who came before him. I think his reflections on those things became the spine and the heart of the film — and it became really important to the narrative and also to how we understand him as more than just an artist, but understand him as a person.”

HBO has announced that it will make its debut on January 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The artist informed fans on January 3 that he is preparing for “the greatest comeback of all time,” but he has not yet disclosed the name of the forthcoming single or album.
