Ne-Yo opinion on LGBT+ community has taken social media on another level.

In a recent podcast, Ne-Yo was asked a specific question pertaining to the LGBTQ+ community, which he then stated that had no specific problem with the community.

He continue to mention that back when he was growing up, there weren’t so many different genders. There were only two genders and that was being a man or woman. “If you wanna be a goldfish, then go be a goldfish just don’t make me play the game with you.”

But it seems as though his opinion about children not making rash decisions about their bodies or their sexuality left people in an uproar.

“I feel like parents have forgotten what the role of a parent is. When was it okay to let a 5, 6 or 12 year old make a life changing decision for themselves?”

Still, when it comes the this type of conversation there have been many incidents to where some celebrities get cancelled because of the harsh words that were used to describe something they are most passionate about. So with that, Ne-Yo’s publicists took it upon themselves to create an apology.

It wasn’t what Ne-Yo intended at all, and he “took back” his apology in an IG video which stated that he was sticking by what he said and do not apologize for having an opinion.

He continues to say that it was not his intention on deliberately making another person feel hurt by his words but in fact he wanted to state how he felt. He was asked as question and he answered it.
