The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster review shares the incredible film written by Bomani J. Story.

The movie expressed so many things that are happening in the community today such as families working to prove themselves.

In the film, Vicaria  is a young woman who has experienced death from both her mother and brother.

She begins to feel the weight of life and decides that she doesn’t want anyone else feeling the way she does so she begins to find the cure for death.

The movie expresses the need for young women to find their voice regardless of what others may think or say.

It brings awareness to the black and brown community showing that it isn’t always about the stereotype that is thrown at us but understanding who we are and what we are fighting for.

The film was released on June 9th in the theaters. It will also be available on AllBlk and Shudder on June 26th.

I believe that everyone should take a moment to watch this film that tells the story of a young woman just trying to reverse what hurts.

We all grief differently and the story that Bomani shares with us expresses that.

It shows us the level in which different people grieve such as Vicaria who wants to cure death, her father who uses substances in order to makes it through, children who have to be “tough” in order to feel as though they can survive.

The movie is heart filling and brings so much awareness to today.

Bomani’s inspiration developed from Frankenstein but the way he twisted the story to make it his own is incredible and mind blowing.

He did an amazing job along with the actors and actresses involved in making the characters come to life.

If you haven’t already, I would definitely consider watching this film.

Check out the movie at your local theater today!!
