She even took home an Emmy Award in 2022 for her role as school teacher Barbara Howard in ABC’s television series “Abbott Elementary.” And now, Ralph has been poked to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the 2023 Super Bowl, which will take place prior to the playing of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
Via Instagram, Sheryl Lee Ralph expressed exhilaration for her Super Bowl 2023 gig, writing: ““Come on now. Don’t you ever give up on you baby!” From around the globe and inside the stadium, roughly 100 million people will be watching the Emmy award winner sing the celebrated hymn. Various celeb friends, including co-star Quinta Brunson and Oprah Winfrey, congratulated Ralph upon hearing the news. LaTavia Roberson implored the actress to “continue to INSPIRE LITTLE BLACK GIRLS LIKE MYSELF.” Tanika Ray took to Instagram as well, posting: “Yes lift them!!! Sheryl Lee Ralph in the buildinggggg. May we have a dose of SLR everywhere!!!!!!”

Also performing with Sheryl Lee Ralph at the 2023 Super Bowl pregame show is Babyface. The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter is set to sing “America the Beautiful.” Over the years, Babyface has grinded out an array of timeless R&B and Pop smashes for the likes of Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé and more.
