Takeoff Doesn’t Leave A Will, Parents Fight For Estate

Rapper Takeoff Killed

As if it wasn’t enough on Takeoff‘s family’s plate following his tragic, untimely, senseless murder — now the late Migos member’s mother and father are in court battling over his estate as a result of the news that Takeoff doesn’t leave a will behind.

“When you pass away with no will, in Georgia, your closest relatives have exclusive rights over your money and assets,” spoke DJ Envy on the Breakfast Club. The legendary NYC deejay went on to explain that Takeoff‘s parents are estranged and do not get along. Both parents desire to distribute the rapper’s assets, and the two are going back and forth in court due to Takeoff not producing a will.

“So, they’re going back to a lot of Takeoff‘s songs, where he raps about how his mom encouraged him and how he grew up in single mother household,” add DJ Envy. Takeoff had no children, thereby, the legal battle is left up to his parents. Charlemagne tha God chimed in, “I think a lot of people think a will is a matter of age, a lot of times. But, a will is a matter of income and assets. If you have a lot of something, it don’t matter how young you are. You have to get your will and estate in order — because the sad reality is, we never know what the future holds.”

Takeoff was killed roughly five weeks ago at a private Halloween party in Houston, TX after being shot in the head and torso. It’s said Quavo, his uncle and fellow Migos member, was involved in a heated dice game that ultimately erupted in gunfire. As a result, several bystanders were shot, however Takeoff was the only one to perish after being struck by several bullets.

Patrick Xavier Clark is currently in court facing murder charges for the shooting of Takeoff. As for leaving no will behind, we’ll simply have to see how things play out in court for Takeoff‘s parents.
