GRAMMY winning producer/songwriter turned R&B artist Scribz Riley is ready for his close-up.  After working with artists like Khalid, H.E.R. and earning a GRAMMY for his work on Cardi B’s debut album, the East London bred talent decided to unveil his own music.  His incredible knack for hit songs continues to shine bright with his latest single and visual, “Mandy.”

Scribz Riley made his debut earlier this year with the single, “East Side,” an ode to his neighborhood in London.  The song was released right around the height of quarantine, but its been picking up in recent months.

The most recent single, “Mandy” is a whole vibe with a rhythmic dance inducing beat which Scribz is able to simply ride to perfection.  It’s a winning compliment to the earlier single, “East Side” and for listeners who are introduced to him with this as his first song, they are sure to become fans.

“I wrote the track in LA & finished it in London. It was a quick freestyle and took me 40 minutes to write, which is really quick for me,” Riley shared of the song. “The song is about getting to that place in a relationship, where as much as you still love that person, you can feel it’s coming to an end.  Sonically, I didn’t want the song to feel sad, I wanted it to reflect that moment of acceptance. As much as it is a sad time, you know it’s the right thing do, so might as well turn up and move on.”

As you listen to the single and watch the visual, get familiar with Scribz Riley.  The rising R&B artist shared some fun facts about himself:

  1. My family is from Nigeria. My new single “Mandy” is influenced by my roots with Afrobeat production set amidst an upbeat R&B melody to create a laid-back late summer anthem.
  2. I started MCing in my school playground, and then I gravitated towards production.

  3. I started out as a producer and songwriter first, working with names like Cardi B, Khalid, H.E.R, and more.

  4. I’ve won two GRAMMYs for my work with other artists

  5. My first ever performance was in front of 10,000 people at Coachella in 2018.
