Singer, songwriter Summer Walker has been buzzing since she released her debut album, Over It, last month.  In fact, the singer has really been making noise all year, beginning with the release of her single, “Girls Need Love,” which was later remixed by Drake.  But recently the news hasn’t been as pleasant as the singer has said some controversial things that has her fans feeling slighted.  Most recently, Summer Walker cancels tour dates, deciding to cut her The First and Last Tour short.

A few days ago the singer said that she could no longer hug fans on the road.  She explained, “I’m an empath, and that transference of energy from that many people each day would literally KILL me.” That was horrible news for fans who paid extra to meet Summer during meet and greets before and after her shows.

Now Summer Walker cancels tour dates barely a few shows into her tour.  She took to instagram to explain her decision to cancel what amounts to 20 shows.  That means she will only make 9 of the original 29 dates she was scheduled to make.

“I’m not going to be able to finish this tour because it doesn’t really coexist with my social anxiety and my introverted personality,” she said in a video. “I’m a person, I have feelings. I get tired, I get sad and it’s just a lot.”

She added: “I want to give you all what I can, so I’m going to keep making music and I might do a few shows, but I can’t finish.”

Must say, this should come as no surprise.  Summer has been pretty honest and upfront with fans.  Just last month, Walker told Billboard that performing “gives me so much anxiety,” adding, “I would be more at peace if I could just record music and slide it under the door.”

The remaining dates on the Summer Walker tour are:
Nov 25 Toronto
Nov 26 Chicago
Nov 27 Royal Oak
Dec 2 Boston
Dec 5 Philadelphia
Dec 7 NYC
Dec 8 NYC
Dec 22 ATL

Summer has also said that this will be her last tour.  Hence the title of the tour being, The First and Last Tour.
