Rapper and new father A$AP Rocky is now facing criminal charges for an alleged shooting in Hollywood, where he’s accused of firing multiple shots at a former friend, TMZ reports.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced Monday, August 15, 2022, his office has charged the rapper with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

Prosecutors say A$AP Rocky pointed a gun at a man during a heated discussion in Hollywood back in November of 2021, and during a follow-up confrontation, Rocky pulled the trigger and fired two shots in the direction of the alleged victim.

Back in April of 2022, A$AP Rocky was arrested for the alleged shooting at LAX, where cops were waiting for him to get off his private jet with the mother of his child, Rihanna.

A$AP Rocky is also being sued for assault and battery by former A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli, who says he is the alleged victim in the shooting. Relli says he was hit with bullet fragments and suffered injuries. The case is still being investigated by the LAPD.

A$AP Relli claims he’s been receiving death threats after allegedly being shot by A$AP Rocky, and his legal team confirmed they had to contact law enforcement.

A$AP Relli’s attorneys, Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz, told TMZ Hip Hop their client has been subjected to constant harassment online and being labeled “a snitch” following Rocky’s arrest in April.

This is a developing story as it is unclear what evidence was presented to the Los Angeles County DA for him to move forward with felony assault charges against Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky.

Update:

On Wednesday August 17, 2022, rapper A$AP Rocky attended court proceedings in which he entered a plea of not guilty for the felony assault charges he faces in Hollywood, California for a 2021 alleged shooting of former friend A$AP Reli.

Rocky’s lawyer appeared with the rapper in court, as she requested a continuous on the case to November 02, 2022. The judge informed A$AP Rocky that his preliminary hearing must begin within 30 days of that date and asked did he understand and agree, to which he replied yes.

A$AP’s lawyer also requested that the entertainer be permitted to travel for work. The judge agreed, as long as his travel dates are presented to the courts.
