Could There Be a ‘Just Wright 2’ on the Way?

It’s been eight years since the Sanaa Hamri-directed film, Just Wright, hit theaters, but we still just can’t seem to get enough of it–and apparently, we aren’t the only ones.

Over the weekend, rapper-turned-actor Common posted a photo to his Instagram account, which captured him and his co-star, Queen Latifah, sharing a kiss and a smile. The caption read: “Should we do a Just Wright 2?”

Of course, fans of the two flooded the comments, and let’s just say, they were definitely here for it.

Should we do a Just Wright 2?

And so was the Queen. She actually reposted the same photo, with the same caption, to her page, and the response was through the roof.

Could this mean that a Just Wright 2 is on the horizon? Well, it sure looks like it.

Produced by Latifah’s company, Flavor Unit Entertainment, Just Wright tells the story of Leslie Wright, a basketball-loving hopeless romantic who works as a physical therapist. After an evening of attending a New Jersey Nets game, Leslie runs into the team’s star player, Scott McKnight, and gets invited to his birthday party, where she shows up with her money-hungry, runway-worthy god-sister, Morgan, who only dreams of snagging a baller.

Instantly, Scott is smitten by Morgan. Eventually, the two become a couple, and not long after dating, he ends up proposing to her. But when Scott suffers an injury at an NBA All-Star Game, his career is on the line, and Leslie comes in to save the day. As sparks fly and true colors show, Scott realizes that the woman he’s marrying is not the woman he’s in love with. Leslie is.
