On National Cheeseburger Day, McDonald’s is spreading the love with a burger deal as it gets into the holiday spirit.

In honor of National Cheeseburger Day on Monday (9/18), the world’s largest fast food chain is giving the Double Cheeseburger a discount.

Customers may purchase the sandwich for just 50 cents on September 18 alone.

Only consumers who download the fast food chain’s smartphone app are eligible for the offer, which has a one-burger per customer cap. The National Cheeseburger Day promotion will be made available to users when they open the app, and the discount will be instantly applied at checkout.

In commemoration of National French Fry Day in July, McDonald’s distributed free fries as part of its most recent app-based promotion.

For the item’s 40th anniversary earlier this year, McDonald’s gave customers who downloaded the app a free 6-piece order of McNuggets.

However, the 50 cent burger isn’t the cheapest one a fast food restaurant is serving on Monday.

From September 18 to September 22, Wendy’s is outdoing McDonald’s by providing a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger.

The kicker? Only when you order something else from the menu can you add the penny burger to your order.

You must go to the “offers” area of the Wendy’s app or website to redeem the offer.

Those who participate in Burger King’s Royal Perks rewards program and spend $1 or more will receive a free cheeseburger.
