The casino industry saw some dramatic changes in recent years. The legalization of gambling in US states opened up the market – and new casinos PA are coming!

How The Casino Industry Has Changed In The Last 2 Years?

The casino industry has been growing rapidly in the past decade, and the events that’ve been taking place in the last few years shifted the focus on online gambling even further, at the expense of land-based casinos. One major turning point was the US Supreme Court’s ruling in 2018 to allow for individual states to authorize sports betting and online gambling, which tripled the efforts across the country to legalize sports betting and online casino casinos.

Ever since Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed the bill to legalize online gambling into law on October 30, 2017, the number of real money online casinos in Pennsylvania has been on the rise. Now, there are 18 legal Pennsylvania online casinos and 12 sportsbooks that cater to PA players. In this article, we’ll discuss all the news regarding the Pennsylvania online casinos market, how the industry has changed over the last 2 years, and what to expect in the future.

The launch of new online casinos PA

Pennsylvania and New Jersey, alongside Nevada, are currently the most competitive markets when it comes to online casino offerings. The list of PA online casinos is increasing constantly, and there are more new online casinos in PA coming soon.

All gambling activities within the state are overseen by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which regulates and audits these operators, and is responsible for the fairness and randomness of the games. There are now 18 online casinos that operate in Pennsylvania, including staple names such as BetMGM, FanDuel Casino, and Caesars Casino. However, many big names have expressed their interest to come to Pennsylvania, and we expect them to open their virtual doors sometime in 2023. The list includes names such as Golden Nugget Casino, Mr Vegas Casino, High 5 Casino, and PlayStay Casino.

While some of these operators already have venues in Pennsylvania, others collaborate with existing casinos and casino resorts in the state. While the last two years saw a surge in new online casinos PA, the market is more competitive than ever, and we expect other operators to show interest in the state’s market.

New models for online gambling

Considering how massive of a leap live casinos have made in the past few years, it’s expected that this trend will continue in the future as well. Casino gamers are mostly divided into slot players and table game lovers, and even though slots are the most popular casino game today, table games have been making a comeback with the introduction of live casinos. The reason is simple: players prefer the ‘real casino’ experience that includes a real, live dealer spinning the Roulette wheel or dealing the cards. More and more new online casinos in PA feature live casino sections and use real dealers in games such as Baccarat and Blackjack. To make the user experience even better, live casino rooms include high-quality cameras and players can switch to many different camera angles.

Another trend that’s expected to continue is Virtual Reality gambling – or popularly known as VR gambling. Just like live casinos, VR intends to bring online gambling closer to the good-old casino floor. Although the industry is rather new, some VR casinos have already tested the waters in recent years. However, as VR accessories are becoming more available to the general public, we expect the push for VR casinos to continue. As we’re getting closer and closer to the metaverse, it’s just a matter of time before VR becomes the norm, and we’re positive that online casinos won’t be excluded.

Shifts In The Casino Industry

Major improvements in player safety & security

Long gone are the days when players were worried about data breaches and scams – especially when it comes to data transactions. All new casinos PA that want to operate legally in the Keystone State must first obtain a license from the PGCB, which means that there’s no place for scams or illegitimate operators. Moreover, all legal operators implement a modern SSL encryption to guarantee data safety, and all games are tested for fairness and audited by independent testing agencies such as eCogra.

Where is the online gambling industry headed?

Just two decades ago, we didn’t even know that it was possible to have a cord-free phone that you can take with you anywhere you go, let alone for it to have the power of a computer. And yet, we’ve come so far with technology that it has changed the way we think, work, and live. The gambling industry has been evolving rapidly, and it’s safe to say that it will only expand further. With the new technological advancements and the legalization of gambling in markets such as the US, the industry will only continue to grow.

The last two years were marked by some major milestones in the gambling world, and the ones who benefited the most were players – who can now enjoy their favorite casino games in a licensed, regulated, and safe market.
