In a year where nothing would seem to be normal, and nothing has gone as planned, XXL Magazine has found a way to be consistent, in a year where everything else is inconsistent. The magazine has announced the release of their 2020 XXL Freshman cover featuring 10 new artists that make up the class.
The magazine also announced that it has been working on the cover since earlier in the year, and Pop Smoke was supposed to be one of the Freshman 10, but his untimely passing forced the magazine to change course. The issue will feature an interview the magazine did with the rapper from earlier this year.
The XXL 2020 Freshman Class represents several parts of the country from New York to San Francisco.
The class includes Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign from New York.
Jack Harlow hails from Louisville, Kentucky.
NLE Choppa is from Memphis, Tennessee.
Chika is rare artist from Montgomery, Alabama.
Polo G and Calboy are representing Chicago.
Meanwhile, Atlanta is represented by Lil Keed and Mulatto, who recently released her debut album.
Rod Wave comes from the bottom of the map, by way of St. Petersburg, Florida.
24kGoldn is the 10th spot winner, thanks to a fan vote. He reps San Francisco.
