10 Women in Hip-Hop You Should Give A Listen To In 2019

6. Cupcakke

Cupcakke, from Chicago, Illinois is an artist who I can see being the next big thing in the rap game because of her dirty and gritty rap style, which fans love to see out of a female rap star. I hope this is the year that Cupcakke’s music goes fully mainstream because as a Midwestern native, I want to see the Midwest get some shine in Hip-Hop once again.

Cupcakke dropped 2 projects in 2016 Cum Cake, and S.T.D. (Shelters to Deltas). Cupcakke has also released 4 albums that have not necessarily received the praise that they deserve.  Last year alone she dropped two albums, Ephorize and Eden. Cupcakke released songs like “Cartoon,” and “Exit” as the singles for the Ephorize album, meanwhile for the Eden album towards the end of 2018, the top singles were “Quiz” and “Blackjack”.

In February, she released her visual for the track, “Squidward Nose”.  Her latest visual for the new single, “Bird Box” is also out now.
