If I’m being completely honest, the Snoop Dogg vs DMX Verzuz match-up just didn’t feel right to me.  I get the symbolism of Dogg vs Dogg, but that is seemingly the only thing these two have in common.

Snoop Dogg is a Hip-Hop legend on every coast, having dominated in Hip-Hop since ’93.  He’s worked with just about every Hip-Hop legend you can think of and has released a total of 17 solo albums.  His debut album was a certified classic and he basically co-wrote Dr. Dre’s classic debut album as well.  He was a member of Death Row Records, early Aftermath Records and has also had stretches in his career where he has worked with No Limit Records and Pharrell Williams.

DMX on the other hand is one of the only rappers to drop 2 number one albums in a year in 1998.  His debut album also goes down as a Hip-Hop classic, though it has been debated.  He was the leader of Ruff Ryders and brought us artists like Eve, Drag-On, and even producer Swizz Beatz.  He has 8 total solo albums, but his career hasn’t been the same since 2003.  He also has several Ruff Ryders compilation albums under his belt.

I just don’t know if there careers compare enough for a Snoop Dogg vs DMX Verzuz, but hopefully my bias doesn’t seep through in my judging.
