Julie, a competitor on Wheel of Fortune, and viewers at home were baffled by a bonus puzzle, with some suggesting that the show “made [the answer] up.”
In the Person category—which was ultimately “Founding Partner”—Julia from Wylie, Texas, had trouble reading the letters on the board. Her inability to decipher the first word meant that she was unable to win the $40,000 additional prize, despite understanding the “partner” portion of the answer.
As a sign of support for Julie, other followers expressed their perplexity about the solution on social media. “Founding Partner? The writers really phoned that one in! #wheeloffortune,” one fan tweeted.

Wheel of Fortune Accused of Making an Answer Up on Recent Episode
A founder partner is often a term used to indicate the shareholder or owners of one of the first businesses bought by an equity-backed platform company, according to the Corporate Finance Institute.
Julie, whose 9-year-old son and brother (who she referred to as the “highlight of her life”) came to support her, nonetheless won $15,170 despite losing in the bonus round.
