Iconic west coast rapper Ice Cube has announced that he has a new album, titled Man Down on the way.

He revealed the news during a sit down with Chuck D’s RAPstation, where he shared that it may be finished very soon.

“I’m working on an album that hopefully I can finish in next couple of weeks and schedule to put it out. I’m digging what I’m doing. The name of the record is called Man Down, and, you know, it’s a pretty good record. It like it. It’s dope,” he said.

Man Down would be Ice Cube’s eleventh studio album but it’s been while, as his tenth studio album Everythang’s Corrupt was released back in 2018. Everythang’s Corrupt, featuring the tracks “Good Cop, Bad Cop” and “Arrest the President,” reportedly debuted at No. 62 on the Billboard 200 with positive reviews–proof that despite being in the game for so long he still got it.

Ice Cube also touched on his illustrious career thus far and how grateful he is ’til this day that it has been going strong for many years.

“It’s a blessing, really,” he said. “For one, I made a promise to myself when I got in this business that I wouldn’t let it change who I am as a person, so I was always willing to let the chips fall where they may and and not worry about ‘I can’t do this or my career will be over’ or ‘if I do this, will this happen?’ When you broke when you’re starting off, going back to being broke is not an issue. That’s not motivation, like ‘I’m going to be broke again, let me bow down to this bulls**t.’ No.”

After spending decades in the business Ice Cube is definitely still doing his thing. On Friday September 29, he’ll be performing alongside Ja Rule and Ashanti in his hometown of Los Angeles, California. The performance is part of LA radio station KDay’s 40th anniversary celebration.

“Ya homeboy is coming home in only [four] days. Roll through and rock with me, Ja Rule and Ashanti,” he tweeted on September 25th with a link to more tour dates including a show with DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Suga Free, Rodney O, and Joe Cooley in Stockton.
