Last week he was mad at NYC, now he’s mad at Hip-Hop too!

When fans hear the name Timbaland, they usually think of a Hip-Hop artist with a talent for creating eclectic and original beats. He did put Keri Hilson on the map (besides her writing for artists). Well fans it’s my job to report the news to you, and the news is that Timbaland is quitting hip-hop and doesn’t want anything to do with rap music anymore. An interview with MTV explains why Timbaland’s Shock Value II is more pop instead of hip-hop. In other words, he’s answering our questions as to why the heck he put Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry on his album instead say, Kid Cudi or Ciara.

He says:
“I was done with hip-hop a long time ago. Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye is acceptable from my generation.

After my last album, I know where my bread and butter is at. I know 75 percent [of the people who buy my album] are women who love Timbaland and most are the women who watch ‘Desperate Housewives’ and all those others.

I did this research. It’s the women who watch Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives — all the real go-to-the-bar women like Timbaland, and mostly European women.

It lets me know that my fanbase is mostly women and they are from all cultures. So it’s not a person who loves mostly Hip-Hop. It’s a person who loves everything besides Hip-Hop.”

Is it just me or did Timbaland just say most of the women who listen to his music are European? Uhh…I think not. Is that why Timbaland is quitting hip-hop? He seems like a walking contradiction. He says no one from his generation is still doing hip-hop EXCEPT Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West. Seems to me there are still people rapping in your generation!
