So many stars decided to show out at the Warner Bros BET Awards. Now you may not have heard of the Rej3ctz if you’re in the East Coast, but us Cali kids know that these 3 men, Mowie, Pee Wee and Bounce, are the original creators of the popular dance known as…well ‘the reject’. “We’re just outsiders trying to fit in. Although I love being a rebel and going against the grain. Rules are made to be broken. Our topics take you to our world. We just do us and it comes off as west coast cause its LA. Our music is L.A.,” said rapper/member Mowie. Look out for the mixtape The Function vs The Kickback on July 1st.
Korrupt came thru to promote his new album that is in the works and another album with Snoop Dogg and the Dogg Pound, “My album is real grown and sexy…and still hood,” he offered.
The New Boyz are signed under Warner Bros so it was no surprise that the hot duo came to BET awards. While mingling I was able to ask how it felt to go from rapping in their bedroom closet to having millions of fans, “It feels amazing. This is what we wanted. I’m thankful that it happened so fast and we want to thank the fans for supporting us.” And to the fans of New Boyz, get ready because they have a second album in the works titled Too Cool to Care. Until that comes out, check out their new single “Break My Bank.”
Star of blockbuster film The Blind Side, Quinton Aaron, chatted with me while on the black carpet about any upcoming films and his other passion, “I haven’t started another movie yet, I’m currently reading scripts. I’d love to work with Sandra Bullock again or Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry, Regina King, John Travolta or Beyonce.” Beyonce?
“I also love to sing R&B music. I don’t write but I can sing.” Maybe we’ll have to stay on the lookout for an album from Aaron as well.
