A gold ring created and donned by Tupac Shakur will be auctioned off, and the price is expected to be staggering.
On July 25, Tupac’s sovereign ring will be offered for sale in New York at Sotheby’s yearly hip-hop auction.
It has a gold, ruby, and diamond “crown” covered in jewels. This week’s auction in New York is anticipated to bring between $155,000 and $250,000 for the piece of hip-hop history.
After serving time in jail, Tupac founded media company Euphanasia Incorporated and started making the move to a more executive position in the music business. He also ordered two brand-new, expensive pieces of jewelry to signify the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
Pac stated that he desired a piece of jewelry that was as an “act of self-coronation” to his godmother Yaasmyn Fula, a friend of his mother’s who also functioned as his “auntie, caretaker, advisor, money manager, caretaker, and lifelong supporter.”
Tupac’s Ring To Sell For Six Figures
The glittering ring may be observed on Tupac’s left hand during what was to be his final interview with MTV following the VMAs, where he was joined by Snoop Dogg, a fellow Death Row Records rapper.
Three days later, Tupac was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas and passed away six days later, on September 13, 1996, in the hospital.
The ring was a “powerful” representation of duty, according to the hip hop legend’s godmother Ms. Fula, who is auctioning it. Tupac considered himself and his artistic abilities to be a means of expressing love and racial injustice, she stated.
“That message has been carried on with a lot of artists to this day that give him acknowledgement and say how much he inspired them,” said Ms. Fula.
“That ring is a powerful symbol: whoever wore that ring had to accept that they have a responsibility to have an impact upon the world.
“Finally, when the ring was finished, I’ll never forget that when I walked in with the ring and he looked at it, I think it just blew him away.”
