Vogue Magazine sues Drake and 21 Savage!
The rap duo is being sued for $4 million over the fake magazine cover for Her Loss promotion.
The faux Vogue cover was used in promotion of their newly released debuted in the US albums chart with 335-350K units also garnering about 430 million streams within its first week.
Representing Vogue, Conde Nast, a publisher of the renowned magazine, is suing Drake and 21 Savage for making use of the magazine’s name. He claims the rappers used the name without permission to promote their new album. Here is the “Her Loss” fake magazine cover.
According to the complaint filed in Manhattan federal court on Monday, ‘Vogue’ is denying any knowledge regarding the Her Loss promotion cover saying “All of this is false. And none of it has been authorized by Conde Nast.”
More information from Complex revealed it is believed that they misled fans into believing the magazine would release a special edition.
‘Vogue’ is suing for at least $4 million in damages, which is three times the defendants’ profits from their album and “counterfeit” magazine.
Furthermore, Condé Nast is asking the judge to order Drake and 21 Savage to stop using the ‘Vogue’ name immediately and has sought $4 million in damages.
