It appears Jenny from the Block had to come to terms with a pedestrian that was reportedly smacked by her SUV.
A pedestrian who sued Jennifer Lopez after her chauffeur supposedly hit him and caused injuries while riding behind an eatery in West Hollywood with the “Monster-in-Law” star and Alex Rodriguez (her former fiancé) inside the vehicle has negotiated a settlement in his suit.
This past weekend, attorneys for Liyanage Roshan Perera (the plaintiff) filed court papers with Judge Serena Murillo in the Los Angeles Superior Court stating that the lawsuit was remedied, however, no terms were disclosed.
Perera claimed on Oct. 16, 2018 he was on Melrose Avenue hanging out in the back of Craig’s restaurant, when out of nowhere he was struck by a Cadillac SUV being operated by Jeffrey Bellamy, who was a co-defendant in the lawsuit along with the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer and Nuyorican Productions Inc. (Jennifer Lopez‘s production company) which hired Bellamy.
According to Bellamy’s attorneys’ court papers, J.Lo and A-Rod were lounging in the rear seat of the SUV when the incident happened. Jennifer Lopez and the baseball icon started dating in 2017 and two years later (March 2019) they got engaged. In April 2021, the couple broke up and the “Maid In Manhattan” actress eloped with Ben Affleck in July 2022, then jumped the broom again with the “Good Will Hunting” actor in front of family members and friends in August 2022 in Georgia.
In August 2019, a negligence complaint was filed that originally named Rodriguez, though in August 2022 he was dropped as a defendant.
In recent court papers, Perera’s lawyers stated a traumatic brain injury was suffered by their client as a result of being ran into by Jennifer Lopez‘s SUV.
