In season 3, Chucky has returned and is now running a muck at the White House.
Being possessed by the ghost of serial butcher Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif, who is reprising his role as the legend), the Good Guys doll is a nonpartisan villain, which is only fitting.
“This is not meant to be any kind of political commentary,” Alex Hedlund (executive producer) assures.
“We want people to think of the White House like the Overlook Hotel…it is a creepy old house with a lot of history, a lot of mythology, and a lot of stories, most of which we don’t know.”
Chucky is not a dull toy despite the saying “All work and no play makes Chucky a dull toy.” Last season, Chucky terrorized New Jersey teenagers Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) at their Catholic boarding school. Since then, Chucky has been residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
‘Chucky’ Season 3 Is Politically Incorrect
Only now, everyone in the Oval Office refers to Chucky as “Joseph,” one of the last of the Good Guys dolls and a loving “friend till the end” of Henry (Callum Vinson), the youngest child of President Collins (Devon Sawa, who has been murdered off in various roles throughout each season).
The adolescents’ search for Lexy’s younger sister, who fled with Chucky’s ex-wife Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) last year, will take them to D.C., where things begin to quickly turn up.
“There’s so much horror to be had from this setting. Our three amigos have all this baggage from the past two seasons and are firmly aware that Chucky is dangerous,” the executive producer furthers. “And him being in the White House poses a much bigger, potentially global threat.”
Chucky Season 3 debuts on Peacock on Wednesday, October 4, at 9/8C.
