Here are eight Grammy Award Show highlights from last night. It was truly a great night for black music.

Baby Keem won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for Family Ties

According to Billboard, “Baby Keem secured one of the more notable wins of the 64th Annual Grammy Awards by emerging victorious for best rap performance, alongside superstar cousin Kendrick Lamar, for their collaboration Family Ties. Kendrick Lamar also won his 14th Grammy for his co-billed role on the song.”

Tyler the Creator won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album

While the Twitter streets were divided on who should have won Best Rap Album, Tyler the Creator or Kanye West, Tyler is somewhere living his best life, working and giving his acceptance speech on Instagram live.

Nas performed an overview of his hits including I Know I Can and One Mic

According to RollingStone, “Returning to the awards show the year after winning Best Rap Album for King’s Disease, [Nas] opened his set by honoring the 20th anniversary of his 2002 album God’s Son, performing the singles I Can and Made You Look.  Nas followed that up with “One Mic” — off 2001’s Stillmatic but released as a single in 2002 — before concluding his medley with “Rare,” off of his Grammy-nominated 2021 LP King’s Disease II.”

Lucky Daye won his first Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album

According to Rated RnB, “the singer-songwriter won Best Progressive R&B Album for his project Table For Two at the 64th Grammy Awards on Sunday. It’s the New Orleans, Louisianna, native’s first Grammy win.”

Silk Sonic won four Grammy Awards

According to Rated RnB, “Silk Sonic left a major mark at the 64th Grammy Awards on Sunday. The duo (Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars) won four Grammys, taking home a trophy in every category they were nominated in this year.” The biggest win was when Silk Sonic won Song of the Year with their hit, Leave the Door Open.

HER won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance

HER won Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Fight For You” and performed live with the legendary Lenny Kravitz and Travis Barker.

Jazmine Sullivan finally won not one but two Grammy Awards

According to HuffPost, “Jazmine Sullivan took home her first Grammy for Best R&B Album on Sunday night. She was also crowned for Best R&B Performance in a tie with Silk Sonic.”

Doja Cat and SZA won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song, Kiss Me More.

According to Pop Sugar, “During their acceptance speech, Doja Cat got emotional about her first-ever Grammy win. After the award was announced, SZA made her way to the stage on crutches (with some help from Lady Gaga), but Doja still made it to the mic after her. It turns out, Doja had decided to go to the bathroom right before the award was announced and had to hurry back to accept it. ‘I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life,’ she said as she fixed her dress, a little out of breath.”

Additional Grammy Award wins that were iconic were Jay Z, The Weekend, Ari Lennox and Jon Baptiste. Black music >>>>>>>

Congratulations to all the winners and performers.
