A recent clip of the Drink Champs podcast/interview with DJEFN and N.O.R.E which featured Remy Ma has got people on the internet talking. The 41-year-old Terror Squad member apparently thinks the “need to know” artist, Doja Cat is not a rapper. In Remy Ma’s words, “I don’t think she’s a rapper, let’s be clear with that, I don’t…” she firstly says, seemingly correcting N.O.R.E about Doja Cat. “They put her in the rapper category, I don’t think she’s a rapper but she makes dope records and I think she’s dope.” She finishes.

Her opinion about the “need to know” artist has sparked conversations and comments on twitter. While some people were perplexed about Remy’s statement, others have supported and agreed with her.

“Maybe most don’t see her as a rapper cuz she’s mostly done pop music in regards to mainstream, but let’s not get it twisted- the woman got bars and crazy style and skill. If she chose to go full-on rap, she would be in the upper echelon of all rappers.” A commenter extensively wrote, and was replied with “Has Doja cat ever done a freestyle?”

This all comes a few days after Doja Cat herself says she’s quitting music after the back and forth with Paraguayan fans.

‘Well she’s not lying though, that girl is a pop artist.’ One said.

“I don’t like the messenger but this is true,” another one said.

Remy in the same interview also spoke about the relationship between her and Nicki Minaj in which she said they both had conversations and agreed not to talk about each other. Nicki replied to the post on The Shade Room saying she never had that conversation with her or anyone. She went on to speak about some other female rappers; fox, Kim, Nicki, Cardi, and Megan. Remy stated that she put in work and that at the end of the day, that’s all that matters – that they are all in better positions than when they started.
