Lil Uzi Vert was accused of kidnapping a puppy and the #animallover Social media wasn’t having it. Lil Uzi appeared in a Facebook post by the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department on Thursday, informing the public that he had taken a puppy from Brookside Pups. The Lil Uzi Vert dognapper claims caught more than a few people by surprise.

Lil Uzi Vert being one of them.

The rapper wasn’t the thief they were looking for and now the cops have replaced the picture of Lil Uzi with that of another man with face tats.

It only took about 30 minutes of the police uploading this notice, before they took it down. Enough time for quality slander on Lil Uzi’s name.

The whole drama was caused by a mix-up at the pet store, Brookside Pups. They had sent the suspect’s Facebook profile with Lil Uzi’s face as his profile picture to the police department. The police had then posted the picture, thinking Lil Uzi was the owner of the account.

Here is what the Rappers Label had to say:

Roc nation is fuming mad at this mistake and says “The Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department should be embarrassed and ashamed for disparaging [Uzi’s] character. This grave error could’ve had significant repercussions on Uzi’s career and epitomizes how Black men can be wrongfully charged and arrested by police departments across the country. Uzi loves all animals and this serious mistake has deterred the apprehension of the kidnapper. Our collective hope is that the puppy is safely and promptly rescued.”

The Philadelphia police are apologetic and have none to blame but Brookside Pups. A surprising turn in the event is that the real dognapper was last spotted driving toward Philadelphia, Lil Uzi’s hometown!

We can’t wait to get to the bottom of this cliffhanger.
