As we previously reported, Erica Mena will not be appearing on the new season of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, after the backlash following her comments during an argument with Spice.  Mena, who has been with the franchise since 2011 called Spice a “Blue Monkey” and made monkey noises during an exchange after Spice brought up her son.  The news of the firing hit this morning and Mona Scott quickly posted a message to show that she heard the backlash and had taken action.  Ever since, the social media reactions to the Erica Mena firing have been coming in.

Here’s the statement from Love & Hip-Hop, posted on social media earlier today:

Shortly after this statement, Mona Scott released her statement, saying simply, that things had been “Handled.”

That wasn’t enough for some, who immediately wondered, if she felt so strongly, why would the scene appear on the show at all??  And why did it take almost a full week for this announcement to be made??

They raise valid points, considering this is no where near new information to the producers and the editors of the series.

As of this post, there have been no reactions from Erica Mena or Spice on social media.
