Victoria Monét’s latest music video, “On My Mama” is proof that she is as visually captivating as she claims to be. She boasts, “I look fly, I look good” in her song.

In 2014, Victoria Monét was a newcomer to the music world with a few singles and a record deal with Atlantic Records. The likes of Kendrick Lamar, T.I., Diddy, and Nas are just a few of the hip-hop stars whose songs she has co-written.

Victoria Monét first announced her new album Jaguar II, earlier this year. She talked about the inspiration for her album’s title and the process behind its creation in an interview. To paraphrase, “I feel like I’ve been behind the bushes and in the background, and I think jaguars themselves live in that way…” She revealed to Billboard.

The Singer-songwriter also revealed she used 2009 Texas rapper Chalie Boy’s “I Look Good” on the song, “On my mama.” Her “On my mama” single apparently did well, as it reached position No. 13 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.

Additionally, the record release would be followed by a tour for the vocalist. The places Monet would be visiting include New Orlean, Atlanta, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Victoria Monet took to IG to thank her fans after her tour tickets sold out in minutes and fans demanded more tour dates.

The 11-track studio album is a continuation of her previous EP, Jaguar, and is set to drop on August 25. You can preorder her new album, Jaguar II here.
