Ja Rule Feels No Rap Artists ‘Dead or Alive’ Are Better Than Him

Ja Rule wasn’t listed on Billboard‘s newly released list of the 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time — and evidently he’s taken it as an insult. On Wednesday (Feb. 8), Billboard and Vibe undraped their contentious list of the all-time best emcees, and the next day (Feb. 9) Ja Rule hopped on social media to express his feelings regarding not filling any of the 50 permitted slots.

Ja Rule posted on via Twitter: “There ain’t 50 rappers dead, alive or waiting to be born better than me. @billboard congrats to everyone on the list well deserved but check my resume… #ICONN #Vibes.” The “Put It On Me” rapper wasn’t done expressing his thoughts on the matter, following up in another post with: “Throw me to the wolves I’ll come back leading the pack… #ICONN #Vibes.”

Via Instagram, Ja Rule seemed to address the sensed cold-shoulder as well. “I’m what they call a POLARIZING figure… You can love me or hate me but you will respect me… Men lie Women lie numbers don’t!!!” Ja Rule said in the caption of a shirtless pic of him on stage. During his career, the Murder Inc. artist has put out numerous Top 10 Billboard albums (6) and four out of six of those albums made the top five.

Billboard and Vibe’s list has had folks crazily debating, with many persons being angry that Jay Z wound up securing the No. 1 slot, potentially displaying the times we’re currently live in. 50 Cent was placed at No. 17 on Billboard’s list — thus, surely Ja Rule felt a certain way about that while too not making the list. In January 2023, Ja Rule was taunted at his concert in Omaha, Nebraska after someone played “In Da Club” (50 Cent‘s hit record); following, a video went viral online showing Ja’s team scurrying to shut 50‘s song off. Naturally, 50 Cent joked about the uneasy moment at his nemesis’ show via social media.
