[WATCH] John Legend Look Alike Wins Over Judges on ‘The Voice’

Coaches of The Voice are never exactly sure what to expect when they turn their chairs, but John Legend most definitely wasn’t expecting to see his look alike on stage during the most recent episode of the NBC talent competition series.

With his performance of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Sacramento, California native Talakai, 34, won over the judges and received chair turns from Reba McEntire and John Legend. But the judges were most shocked by Talakai’s appearance.

At the conclusion of the performance, Legend informed fellow coaches Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan, “Wait until you see his face. “I’m looking at myself,” he continued. “Like a taller, more handsome version of myself.”

Talakai joked, obviously anticipating the reply: “What’s up, twin!”

“You know, I’m on the internet… a lot of people will send me pictures of people that they think look like me,” the “All of Me” singer expressed. “And most of the time, I’m like, ‘Not really.’ And then I turn around and look at you, and we have the same haircut… I’m like, he really, legitimately looks like me.”

Talakai informed the coaches that he was accustomed to the parallels and said: “Every day at work, I get it. In school, they used to sing ‘Ordinary People’ down the hallway all the time.”

Legend joked with the skilled singer, “Well, I’m sorry I’ve been haunting you,” before telling him he desired to have him on his team and complimenting his tone and “the richness in [his] voice.”

Likewise, McEntire expressed her admiration for Talakai, saying: “I absolutely love your voice, your range… I’m already a huge fan.” But she was aware that she had little chance against the well-known doppelganger of the Californian native. She was accurate since Talakai decided to join Team Legend.

Following a stage selfie, Legend made the following joke: “[Talakai] is one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen, I mean honestly,” adding, “I’ve got my twin on my side, and I think we’re gonna have a lot of fun together.”
