Bell Biv DeVoe Return with Album Announcement & New Single “Run”
R&B/Hip-Hop Royalty, Bell Biv DeVoe surprised the internet early today when they announced a new album and released a new single and video for the single, “Run”.
Bell Biv DeVoe, comprised of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivens and Ronny DeVoe, haven’t released an album since 2001’s BBD album. Their debut, Poison, featuring the infectious hit title track, went four times platinum and the song remains a mainstay in Black culture. The trio, who of course are all members of New Edition still perform their BBD hits during shows.
The new Bell Biv DeVoe album, Three Stripes ≡ will be released on January 27, 2017. The lead single, “Run” which was released today, along with a video, is produced by Hip-Hop heavyweight Eric Sermon. The track stays true to the New Jack Swing roots for BBD and New Edition and features a poignant sample of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize”.

Mike, Ronny and Ricky will have their lives portrayed in the upcoming BET biopic, The New Edition Story, which will premiere in 2017. It’s a three part series to encompass the entire story of the legendary group.
