Missy Elliott has returned with her first single and video for 2017. The legendary hip-hop artist has been slowly releasing new music over the last year and a half. She first popped up in late 2015 with fellow Virginia native Pharrell Williams and gave us “WTF (Where They From).” The duo returned for another new track in 2016, “Pep Rally.” And this week, she has delivered another single with some visuals. Featuring and produced by Lamb, “I’m Better” is another visually arresting piece. It’s got some real avant-garde fashion, and it still has Missy’s usual brand of crazy-cool dance choreography. Of course, co-directed by longtime friend and frequent collaborator Dave Meyers.
“Yeah he got bands in the Bando/Missy got dudes in Orlando/Plus I got cars that he paying for/Man I be too much to handle.”
In addition, there’s going to be a documentary on Missy Elliott coming soon. A teaser, which features Pharrell, Busta Rhymes, as well as Sylvia Rhone, was released on Twitter Thursday night.
